Over 40 customers, suppliers, visiting dignitaries and staff attended the Official Opening of Rocket Print & Promotions’ new facility today.
The progressive and expanding Stand Design and Build business held the event to mark a significant point in the firm’s growth, and conducted tours of the facility followed by speeches and a champagne reception with light lunch.
Rocket has been trading in the UK since 2009 and was started by Noel Reeves, a former Organiser. The business came from humble beginnings, started from a spare bedroom at home in 2009 and taking on its first employee in January 2013. In recognition of its rapid expansion and success, Rocket was named ‘Business of the Year’ at the 2016 Grantham Journal Business Awards, and Noel won ‘Business Person of the Year’ at the 2017 awards. Rocket now employs 16 full time and 4 part time ‘Rocketeers’, and is looking to recruit for several more roles in Sales, Admin and Installations this year.
Rocket now occupies 13,500 sq.ft at their East Midlands base, and covers every aspect of Exhibition Stand design and build, as well as commercial large format and grand format printing.
Sales, Design, Project Management, Print, Manufacture, Storage, Installation and Transport are all covered by the Rocket team.
Noel Reeves commented “I am so proud of what we have achieved since moving to Grantham less than six years ago. Our location is perfect for travelling between the main venues in London (Olympia, Excel and BDC), Birmingham (NEC, Ricoh, ICC and National Motorcycle Museum) and Manchester, and we have built an excellent team of dedicated ‘Rocketeers’ who deliver outstanding service to our many clients. 2017 was a record year for Rocket, experiencing growth of over 20% in year on year revenues, and so far 2018 is looking like being another record breaker.”
Andrew Harrison, ESSA Director, attended the event and was impressed by what we saw. “It’s so inspiring to see them doing well. They’ve identified where their sweet spot is within the sector, and I think that’s what more companies should do.”
Tim Sutton, business coach and advisor, also commented on Rocket’s success “I have known Noel and the team for nearly four years and in that time they have grown ten-fold. This is a high growth business with big ambitions for the future and I have no doubt that with the improved facilities now in place they will achieve those ambitions. Rocket is without doubt the most impressive business I have worked with over the last 12 months”
Visitors were on the day clearly impressed too.
One of Rocket’s clients, Chris Austin from Conti Espresso Machines said to Noel after the event “Thanks again for inviting me up, you must be chuffed to bits with the place, really impressive and a huge testament to how hard you all work.”
Tim Godson from accountancy firm Duncan & Toplis commented “All very impressive. What struck me was how organised everything was.”
Cllr Mike Cook, Mayor of Grantham was also pleased to attend the ceremony and cut the ribbon. He said to Mr Reeves how refreshing it was to see a local business expanding and creating opportunities for young people in the town.
